Really Right Stuff Tripod Spikes
These tripod spikes bite into soft surfaces to keep your tripod feet from slipping. They are machined from solid stainless steel and feature Accidental Backout Prevention (ABP) O-rings to keep the spikes securely in place. They are compatible with all Really Right Stuff tripods & monopods.
I have noticed a substantial increase in stability when using the spikes in soft terrain such as found in sand, snow, and forest environments. I do not use them when shooting in rocky terrain as I do not want to leave any marks on the landscape. As such, I only install them on my tripod when I know they will not have an impact on the environment.
