Falling Fire

Grand Falls, Arizona

Last light strikes the lower section of Grand Falls on the Little Colorado River in Arizona. Grand Falls was formed after lava from a nearby crater flowed into the river creating a lava dam which forced the river to reroute itself around the dam. Grand falls formed where the reroute rejoins its original course. At 185 feet in height, Grand Falls is taller than Niagara Falls. © Adam Schallau, All Rights Reserved.
