Twilight at Grand Falls

Grand Falls, Arizona

Spring snowmelt causes the typically dry Little Colorado River to run strong carrying with it the silt it disturbs as it crosses the Painted Desert. The river cascades over Grand Falls, a waterfall that is taller than Niagra Falls, in this incredible display of earth-colored water earning the falls the nickname “Chocolate Falls.” © Adam Schallau, All Rights Reserved.
