Grand Canyon Monsoon Photo Workshop

This is an exciting time to visit and photograph the Grand Canyon because the summer monsoon typically brings cooling rains, dynamic skies, and an ever changing palette of light and color. You will have the opportunity to capture the dramatic vistas that only the Grand Canyon can offer as I provide guidance and share my creative vision.

We will cover topics that comprise the skills and techniques for creating captivating nature photographs. This includes building a composition, exposure control, understanding the histogram, White Balance, controlling depth-of-field, using Circular Polarizing filters and Graduated Neutral Density filters, techniques for maximizing sharpness, and developing your creative vision. There will also be two digital darkroom tutoring sessions exploring how to get the most out of your photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, and we will explore processing for both technical perfection and emotional response.

Dates: August 22nd to 25th, 2014
